Mr Travers has annexed a statement, in accordance with Your Lordship's request, which shows that this Government does make a profit by having the Postal Agencies under its control. Nevertheless, it is scarcely probable that the Imperial Government does not gain by the increase of Postal business, and if this be the case, it seems inequitable that the whole cost rendered necessary by such increase should fall upon the Colony. I would therefore suggest that Her Majesty's Government be asked to reconsider their decision by the light of the facts mentioned in Mr Travers' Report.
